Thanks Steve
I’ve waited all day to react to the death of Steve Jobs because I wasn’t sure how I felt about it all. Was he an icon? Damn straight! I’ve been in the IT game a long time and I can shudderingly remember the days of cream PCs, crappy CRT monitors and floppy disc drives. But the vision of Steve changed all of that. Crappy cream PCs became the elegance of the G4 Power Macs which lead to the inspiring iMacs whether it be the CRT monsters or the all in one flat screens (I’ll never get tired of someone looking at a modern iMac and saying that’s a nice screen and then blowing them away in telling them that that’s the whole computer).
In 2007 the iPhone changed my life and I’ll never turn back and in the last 2 years the iPad has done that all over again.
Steve has brought the Star Trek dream of computing to life and he should be commended for that.
A quick note from a twitter post from Jason one of our authors sums it up perfectly…
“Steve Jobs, an iNspiration. A clever man whose time was cut bitterly short and one of the few who has changed this world for the better”.
Nuff said! Goodbye Steve and thank you sooo much!
